PEYRONIE'S DISEASE TREATMENT in Asheville, NC

There Is Finally An Answer for Peyronie's Disease

"The amount of men that are thrilled when they can use their equipment again is just wonderful!" -Dr. Ibrahim

The P-Shot® used for Peyronie’s Disease Treatment is effective. Platelet Rich Plasma is painlessly injected into the shaft and the results are amazing!

Peyronie’s Disease or PD occurs after trauma to the penile shaft, usually during intercourse. The shaft may be bent and this can tear the covering of one of the erectile bodies. When this tear “heals” a “scar” can form. The scar won’t then distend like the rest of the penis. This causes the penis to bend in the direction of the scar. In the “old” days we injected steroids and all sorts of things to try and soften it. But today, we have Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP (from your own body) that contains growth factors that can heal the body.

Injecting this PRP into the scar or plaque can demonstrably improve things. Injecting PRP this way is called the Priapus Shot® or P-Shot®. Depending on the severity, multiple P-Shots® may be needed. Everyone is different. Adding a penile pump during all of this has been shown to help as well and those instructions are on a separate template. Add acoustic wave treatments, or GAINSWave can also benefit in your Asheville Peyronie's Disease Treatment. The good news, these advances have dramatically improved outcomes! Please see the attached research paper on this subject.

How do you break up Peyronie’s scar tissue?

Several ways:

  • Acoustic Wave therapy or GAINSWave treatments
  • Platelet Rich Plasma Injections (the Priapus or P-Shot®)
  • Regenerative Growth Factor Injections
  • Some practices use a medication Xiaflex, we choose not to as feel it can weaken the tissue leading to penile fractures.

How Successful is Surgery for Peyronie’s Disease?

Surgery is sometimes recommended for severe Peyronie’s cases, but it comes with significant risks, including:

Most men who come to Biltmore Restorative want to avoid surgery, which is why we focus on effective, non-invasive alternatives. Our combination approach using PRP, GAINSWave, and regenerative medicine has helped hundreds of men each year improve their condition without surgery.

What is Peyronie’s Disease?

Biltmore Restorative Medicine

Peyronie’s disease (PD) is a condition that develops when scar tissue (plaque) forms inside the penis, leading to curvature, pain, and possible erectile dysfunction. This scar tissue is typically a result of penile trauma, often occurring during intercourse. When the tear heals, the hardened plaque doesn’t expand like normal tissue, causing a bend in the shaft.

While some cases remain mild, others worsen over time, making early intervention with non-surgical treatments crucial. Advances in regenerative medicine, including PRP injections (P-Shot®) and GAINSWave therapy, have significantly improved outcomes, offering effective, non-invasive solutions.

Men sex health

How Does a Man Get Peyronie’s Disease?

Peyronie’s disease isn’t something you’re born with—it typically develops after an injury to the penis. This often happens during sex when excessive bending or pressure causes tiny internal tears in the erectile tissue. Over time, as the body tries to heal, scar tissue forms, leading to the hard plaques that cause curvature.

Some men may not even remember a specific injury, as repeated minor trauma over time can also trigger the condition. Other contributing factors include genetics, certain health conditions like diabetes, and age-related changes in connective tissue.

The key takeaway? If you’re noticing changes in your erection—curvature, pain, or difficulty with penetration—it’s worth getting checked out. Early intervention can help prevent worsening symptoms and restore normal function.

Ignoring Peyronie’s disease won’t make it go away—and in most cases, it progressively worsens. The scar tissue can continue to harden, making the curvature more pronounced and leading to increased pain or difficulty with erections.

Possible long-term effects of untreated Peyronie’s disease:

  • More severe curvature – In some cases, the penis may curve to the point where penetration becomes impossible.
  • Worsening pain – Some men experience ongoing discomfort, especially during erections.
  • Shortening of the penis – As scar tissue tightens, the length of the penis can decrease.
  • Erectile dysfunction (ED) – Poor blood flow and tissue rigidity can make it harder to maintain a firm erection.

The good news? Non-surgical treatments like PRP (P-Shot®) and GAINSWave therapy can help break down plaque, improve circulation, and restore function—especially when started early.

How Do You Fix Peyronie’s Disease Without Surgery?

For years, men were told surgery was the only fix for Peyronie’s. But today, non-surgical treatments have changed the game, offering real results without invasive procedures.

At Biltmore Restorative, we specialize in cutting-edge, non-surgical Peyronie’s treatments, including:

Surgery is only necessary in extreme cases, and even then, it comes with risks—including a 100% chance of penile shortening. Instead, our goal is to restore function and improve penile health without cutting, stitches, or long recovery times.

How Long Does Peyronie’s Disease Take to Develop?

Peyronie’s disease doesn’t happen overnight—it usually develops slowly over months or even years.

Men often notice:

The sooner you seek treatment, the better the outcome. Treatments like GAINSWave and PRP can help soften scar tissue, improve circulation, and stop the condition from progressing.

Symptoms include:

  • A noticeable bend or curve in the penis
  • Pain during erections
  • A hard lump or plaque formation along the shaft
  • Shortening of the penis

While it cannot be completely reversed, treatments like GAINSWave therapy, PRP injections, and regenerative medicine can help significantly reduce curvature and restore function.

Combination treatments like GAINSWave therapy, PRP injections, penile traction, and regenerative injections have shown the best results in reducing plaque and improving function.
